Fiber Optic Voice Conference Switch – MT16
The MT16 Voice Conference Switch is an all Fiber Optic Voice Switch. System components consists of the core Voice Switch, Operator Consoles, and radio/telephone interfaces.
The MT16 contains 2 fiber optic plug-in modules. Each fiber optic module supports up to 8 fiber interfaces for a total of 16 fiber interfaces per chassis. Each fiber optic interface can be assigned to either an Operator Console, Channel Mul-tiplex, and Radio interfaces. The MT16 Voice Switch has redundant common components such as dual power supplies, voice processing logic, and microprocessors.

Operator Consoles are comprised of an electronics chassis and a Windows PC. Operator Console features include Per Circuit Volume, Patch, Audio Present, Binaural Headset, Left & Right Ear circuit selection, Multi-Monitor, Multi-Talk, and Per Circuit Character Label.
Control of radio and STE-R equipment can be accessed using the Operator Console. A Channel Multiplex controls radios capable of both plain and cipher modes of operation. The Channel Multiplex contains 24 individual radio interfaces designed to exceed the -100dB of isolation across adjoining radio interfaces. Orion STE-R interface units allow a single STE-R to be shared across multiple Console Operators. The STE-R interface unit provides the Operator with current call status information.
